Heart Coherence Biofeedback is also known as heart-rate variability training. It is a type of biofeedback training that uses heart rate variability (HRV), a measure of the oscillation or variation in the interval between consecutive heartbeats. As a marker of physiological resilience and behavioral flexibility, HRV reflects our ability to adapt effectively to stress and environmental demands.

Heart coherence biofeedback uses breathing patterns to influence your heart rate into a state of coherence. Which means your heart rate increases and decreases very smoothly like a gentle wave. Normally, breathing and heart rate are controlled subconsciously. But we can consciously take over and control our breathing, altering our heart rate and influencing our entire nervous system. Heart Coherence equates to the brain and body being in sync, and the nervous system rebalancing between sympathetic and parasympathetic. The goal is to balance the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems.
